Poem Tails is a collection of animal themed poems and short essays written by many animal lovers where the profits will benefit the grassroots charity, *Tails to Freedom.
We are putting together a book of poems & essays and selling it through a local publishing company who distributes worldwide. We would really love if you could write a poem or essay as an individual or on behalf of your organization, school, company, etc. The only catch is…the poem has to be about animals.
Your submissions can be funny, scary, magical etc. & it can be about incidences, experiences, thoughts, dreams etc.
Your name, credentials and org/website will be mentioned following the poem/essay which will offer great exposure to your organization, workplace, school, etc.
T2F is working with a literary manager, publishing company and artist. Talented artist, Tara Staples: http://www.freewebs.com/theartoftara will illustrate the cover as well as represent individual poems and short essays throughout the collection...
To date, approximately 25 people are working on their poems & essays. We need about 300 total. Poetry is a unique expression and will take some time to create. So, have fun and enjoy it! There is no deadline, although we hope to have all submissions by January 31st, 2010. Volunteers: Computer assistance (website, biz plan, etc.) labor (resale shop & future facility)
Monetary and merchandise donations: Our first step will be to open the secondhand shop where the profits from the sale of those goods will benefit T2F. Financial contributions will help pay for set-up & overhead of the resale shop. Merchandise donations will help set up the store as well supply the inventory.
*Tails to Freedom: A future humane education center that will be a fun & educational place to learn the importance and majesty of animals and the earth. Anyone who wants information about T2F can request a draft copy: business plan, financial plan, website, brochure and picture of facility.
